Several EU Countries Reopen Their Visa Application Centres in the Philippines

Citizens of the Philippines are now eligible to file applications of various categories at the Visa Application Centres of several European Union Member States after the latter have estimated that the conditions for the reopening of these VACs have now been created.

According to VFS Global, which is an outsourcing and technology services company that serves governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, and to which these EU members have outsourced visa operations in the Philippines, has announced that France, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Netherlands are now accepting applications, mainly for seafarers.

“The France and Sweden Visa Application Centres in Manila are now accepting short stay (tourist, business, medical, seafarers) and long stay (student, work, resident permit) applications,” VFS Global notes through a statement published in its website.

The notice notes that Visa Application Centres in Manila of the rest of the countries – Belgium, Germany, Norway and Netherlands – are now accepting seafarer applications. As per Denmark’s VAC, t is now accepting seafarers and long stay applications.

“The centre in Manila (Philippines) has resumed accepting applications only for residence/work permit/re-entry permit (except Au Pair) and seafarers. VFS Global will also implement the appointment system when accepting applications and will not accommodate walk-in applicants, hence, kindly ensure that you book your appointment online,” VGS Global announces.

At the same time, the non-EU country of Ukraine has resumed operations at its Visa Application Centre in Manila.

Previously, the Embassy of France to the Philippines announced that Philippine citizens could file their application for a visa to France starting from  June 22, given that the visa type they are applying for belongs to one of the categories for which visa operations have resumed.

The following visa types will be processed with priority:

*    Student/entrance examinations (short and long stay)
*   Business (short and long stay)
*    Family establishment in France

The Embassy also recommends to visa applicants to make sure that the laws of the Philippine permit them to leave the Philippines on their chosen date of departure. - Schengenvisainfo News
